The Carbondale Annual Potato Day theme for 2022 is “Marble Mash” celebrating the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial, which was made of Yule Marble from the Crystal Valley.  In honor of the skilled sculptors of Marble, Colorado, we’re hosting an online potato sculpting contest. Winners will receive Carbondale Chamber Gift Certificates good at dozens of businesses around town.

Using a spoon for safety, carve the potato into one of four categories listed below. Take a picture of your creation and post it to the Carbondale Annual Potato Day Facebook Page or share on Instagram with #CarbondalePotatoDay with the following information:

  • Adult
  • Child (under 13)

  • The Lincoln Memorial
  • Representing the Town of Carbondale
  • Representing the Town of Marble
  • Creative Category (anything goes)
Deadline for entry is 8pm on Thursday, September 29th.  Adult and Child winners will be chosen in each category and will be contacted on Friday, September 30th to receive their prize in person at Potato Day on October 1st, or have it mailed.
