Sláinte! Join your neighbors and friends and toast the Emerald Isle with an evening of bagpipes, beer, and the “Best Legs in a Kilt Contest.” Sample Celtic & German cuisine, soak up some Celtic tunes, and enjoy a jolly good autumn evening. Music and mugs available beginning at 5:00pm Friday night, October 11th. Jig on by the 4th Street Plaza to check out the fun.

Willkommen! Time to dust off last year’s stein and fill it full with this year’s beer. Oktoberfest kicks off at 12pm Saturday, October 12th, and promises to be a day full of fun with German music, food, and beer. Half and full-liter steins available while supplies last—get yours before it’s gone! Test your merit at Liter Holding and Nail Driving, and don’t forget to secure your spot in the Annual Cornhole Tournament (must pre-register online or at the CRCC).

Volunteers are needed for checking IDs, monitoring the entrance/exit, and manning the zero waste stations. Shifts run in two hour increments:
Friday: 5-7pm, 7-9pm and Saturday 12pm-2pm, 2-4pm, 4-6pm, 6-9pm
Over the last two years we have sent over over 80lbs of candy to troops overseas with Operation Gratitude! Bring your Halloween candy to Rec Center November 1-5 and trade it for day passes!
Ages 0-3 years: We will buy 2lbs of candy with 1 FREE admittance to Motion Monday or Wild and Wacky Wednesday ($5 value)
Ages 4-6 years: We will buy 3lbs of candy with 1 FREE youth AND 1 free adult pool admittance ($12 value)
Ages 7-13 years: We will buy 2lbs of candy with 1 FREE admittance to the Carbondale Recreation and Community Center ($5 value)
If you have been a good little boy or girl, let Santa know what you would like for Christmas. Write a letter or draw a picture and address it to Santa at the North Pole. Drop it off at Santa’s Mailbox at the Carbondale Recreation and Community Center from December 1-December 20. Make sure to sign your name and address so Santa can write back!
The Town of Carbondale Parks and Rec Department along with Carbondale Arts invites everyone to light up Carbondale and welcome Santa. The lights on the trees lining Main Street will come on when Santa reaches the 4th Street Plaza. There will be carolers, free hot chocolate, and cookies.
Come on down to the 4th Street Plaza Ice Rink on January’s First Friday for a free Community Party. We will have a fire pit, roast hot dogs and marshmallows, and drink hot chocolate. Ice skate rentals will be available at the Rec Center until 9pm
