Join us Mondays at 1pm for FREE.  If you have SilverSneakers, Silver&Fit, Active &Fit, or Renew Active, please bring your membership card and check-in.

The SilverSneakers Fitness Program offers a unique blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially oriented programming that enables older adults to take greater control of their health. It is available at no additional cost to individuals who belong to a participating Insurance Plan. Please call the Front Desk at 970.510.1292.

  • A FREE membership at Carbondale’s Recreation & Community Center with access to conditioning classes, exercise equipment, pool, and other amenities that accompany the basic membership
  • Access to any participating fitness center throughout the U.S. while traveling
  • Customized SilverSneakers classes designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance
  • Health education seminars and other events that promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle
  • A specially trained Senior Advisor at the fitness center to introduce you to SilverSneakers and acquaint you with their site & equipment

The Silver&Fit exercise and healthy aging program is provided by American Specialty Health. It’s designed specifically for older adults. You may get access to Silver&Fit as a Medicare beneficiary through many insurance companies’ Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans.

Certain Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans include the Silver&Fit program as a benefit. Some people may also get access through a group retirement health plan.

You must meet at least one of these criteria to be eligible for Silver&Fit:

  • You are age 65 or older.
  • You are currently enrolled in Medicare.

To find out if you’re eligible, visit this online Silver&Fit eligibility check. You’ll need accept the Terms and Conditions, then enter your first name, last name, and birth date. If you’re an eligible Silver&Fit program member, follow the steps to enroll online.

Renew Active is available at no additional cost, exclusively from UnitedHealthcare® Medicare Plans.

Summer 2021 Pickleball Ladder Leagues for Adults at the Alpine Bank Young-Calaway Pickleball Courts

Start date: June 7, 2021 - End date: August 9, 2021

Time: 5:30-7:30pm, 10:30am-12:30pm

Location: Alpine Bank Young-Calaway Pickleball Courts

Advanced Pickleball Ladder League – 10 week series
Level of play: Advanced (roughly 3.8-4.0)
Requirements: Must have fairly consistent drop shots, ability to sustain dink rallies, and
demonstrates various levels of strategies of the game of pickleball.
Format: The first 2 weeks will be round robins which will result in your placement on the initial
rungs of the ladder. During the remaining sessions, there should be lots of movement up and
down on the ladder as scores of each individual player are accumulated and will determine who
moves up or down on the rungs. Games will be to 11 (win by one) or 13 minutes max.
Day: Mondays
Dates: June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, July 26, August 2, August 9

Ladies’ Intermediate Pickleball Ladder League – 6 week series
Level of play: Upper level 3.0 – mid level 3.5
Requirements: Must know the rules of pickleball as well as have a consistent serve, strives to
perform drop shots, ability to dink, and can demonstrate basic strategies of the game of
pickleball.
Format: The first 2 weeks will be round robins which will result in your placement on the initial
rungs of the ladder. During the remaining sessions, there should be lots of movement up and
down on the ladder as scores of each individual player are accumulated and will determine who
moves up or down on the rungs. Games will be to 11 (win by one) or 13 minutes max.

McClure Pass Colors and Paonia Vineyards Tour

Join us for a trip over McClure Pass!  Enjoy the beautiful views as we drive to Paonia to have lunch and check out some of the different orchards and vineyards. Bring money for lunch and/or tastings!
