Fitness Instructors (Ongoing)

Lifeguard and Water Safety Swim Instructor Positions
Lifeguards must have a valid Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Lifeguard Certifications are available through Carbondale Recreation and Community Center; see the Aquatics page for details. Must be 15 years or older. Staff works 25-40 hours per week flexible days and hours. Pay ranges from $14 – $20 per hour based on experience.
Swim Instructors must have a valid WSI Certification. Instructors choose their own teaching schedule but must teach a series of 8 classes per Red Cross standards. Instructors also have the option of teaching Private Swim Lessons. Pay for classes is $15-$22 per hour based on experience. Private Lessons are base pay plus 60% of the cost of the private lesson.

Temporary/Seasonal Parks Maintenance Positions
The Town of Carbondale is accepting applications for our Parks Department temporary/seasonal positions. Position performs maintenance duties on Town parks, athletic fields, open spaces and public facilities such as mowing grass, landscape maintenance and general maintenance duties.
A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. Physical exam, pre-employment and substance abuse testing will be required.
Work hours are Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm. Starting pay will be $18.00/hour depending on qualifications.

Customer Service Representative
The Carbondale Recreation and Community Center is hiring 1-2 Customer Service Representatives for the Front Desk. Daily duties include: answering telephones, greeting patrons, handling POS transactions, cleaning equipment/facility, registering patrons for programs, and assisting managers with other tasks as needed. Additional work opportunities include helping run programming and assisting at special events. Shifts include opening, closing, and midday times. This is a year-round part-time position limited to no more than 30 hours/week.
The wage for this position begins at $13/hour.
