Carbondale Aquatics Center Lifeguard | Job Description
The Town of Carbondale is accepting applications for our Aquatics Center for the position of Lifeguard. Lifeguards perform a variety of duties including but not limited to rule enforcement, open and close the facility, chemical checks, performing rescues, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. Physical exam, pre-employment and substance abuse testing will be required. Work hours require a flexible schedule that may include morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Aquatics Center is seasonal with a planned open in May and a closure in September or October depending on staff availability. Starting pay will be $20.00 /hour depending on qualifications.
A Red Cross Lifeguard certificate is required before the first day of work. In-house certification available.

Swim Instructors will perform a variety of duties but not limited to developing an appropriate lesson schedule, following Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program and level test outs, communicating with parents, ensuring proper pool chemical levels for classes, assisting with cancelation notices, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. Physical exam, pre-employment and substance abuse testing will be required. Work hours require a flexible schedule that may include morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Aquatics Center is seasonal with a planned open in May and a closure in September or October depending on staff availability. Starting pay will be $30.00 /class depending on qualifications.

Temporary / Seasonal Parks Maintenance | Job Description
The Town of Carbondale is accepting applications for our Parks Department temporary/seasonal positions. Position performs maintenance duties on Town parks, athletic fields, open spaces and public facilities such as mowing grass, landscape maintenance and general maintenance duties. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. Physical exam, pre-employment and substance abuse testing will be required. Work hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Season begins in April and ends in September. Starting pay will be $24.00 /hour depending on qualifications.

Customer Service Representative Ι Job Description
The Carbondale Recreation and Community Center is looking to hire a part-time customer service representative
Responsible for all aspects of the front desk business. Answers multiple telephone lines and staffs the front desk at the Carbondale Recreation and Community Center and/or Carbondale Aquatics Center, while providing information on rec facilities and Recreation Department programs. Takes program registrations, membership fees, and daily entrance fees. Responsible for resolving issues associated with the facility, computer programs, and daily accounting. Provides the necessary information to all users to experience a safe environment, and educates the participants on the policies and procedures required to utilize the facility. Demonstrates strong customer service skills and is able to meet and serve the public effectively. Has the ability to work independently, use good judgment, take responsibility, diplomatically respond to and handle problems, and be an effective leader and role model. Has the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with other staff members, the public and program participants. Has the ability to interact with the general public in a cooperative and courteous manner. Must be dependable and maintain a clean and neat appearance. Performs other duties as assigned and required.
Pay Range: Starting at $17-$18 per hour, 30 hours max.
