Temporary/Seasonal Parks Maintenance Positions | Job Description

The Town of Carbondale is accepting applications for our Parks Department temporary/seasonal positions. Position performs maintenance duties on Town parks, athletic fields, open spaces and public facilities such as mowing grass, landscape maintenance and general maintenance duties.  A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. Physical exam, pre-employment and substance abuse testing will be required. Work hours are Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm. Starting pay will be $22.00/hour depending on qualifications.

Customer Service Representative
CRCC PT Customer Service Representative I

The Carbondale Recreation and Community Center is looking to hire a part-time customer service representative

Responsible for all aspects of the front desk business. Answers multiple telephone lines and staffs the front desk at the Carbondale Recreation and Community Center and/or John M. Fleet Pool, while providing information on rec facilities and Recreation Department programs. Takes program registrations, membership fees, and daily entrance fees. Responsible for resolving issues associated with the facility, computer programs, and daily accounting.  Provides the necessary information to all users to experience a safe environment, and educates the participants on the policies and procedures required to utilize the facility. Demonstrates strong customer service skills and is able to meet and serve the public effectively. Has the ability to work independently, use good judgment, take responsibility, diplomatically respond to and handle problems, and be an effective leader and role model. Has the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with other staff members, the public and program participants.  Has the ability to interact with the general public in a cooperative and courteous manner.  Must be dependable and maintain a clean and neat appearance.  Performs other duties as assigned and required.

Pay Range: Starting at $17-$18 per hour, 30 hours max.

Rec Assistant (Ongoing) CRCC Rec Assistant

This position reports directly to the Athletics Coordinator. Performs a variety of duties in relation to the Carbondale Parks and Recreation Department’s programs. This includes assisting  of recreational activities: youth programs, special events, sports leagues and tournaments, youth field trips, and youth hikes. Other duties may include assisting with maintenance and care of park grounds and facilities.

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule (programs are often mornings/afternoons/evenings and/or weekends).  Max 30 hours/week. Pay Range $17-$19/hour

Lifeguard and Water Safety Swim Instructor Positions (Summer/Seasonal)

Carbondale Pool Lifeguards are all ages and backgrounds to help best relate to all the patrons who visit our pool each summer.  Our current Lifeguards range in age from 16 – 65 years.  We have a very fun and engaging team.  We help each other out and foster a very upbeat work environment. Our Lifeguards are held to the highest standards and are expected to continuously pay attention to their surroundings and those around them thereby preventing dangerous situations from occurring.

We are looking for people to join this team who are motivated, like to interact with people, and like to help people.  This means attending in-service trainings, management coaching, and being willing to tell people of all ages what to do in a kind and respectful manner.  You will be provided with: all the tools you need to succeed, uniforms, and a group of people who are kind and thoughtful to be around.

-Must be 15 years and older
-Must be Red Cross Lifeguard Certified (we offer training)
-Must pass Town Hiring Process
-Must be available to work between June 5 and September 30
-Pay Rate Between $18 and $23.50 per hour based on experience
